IACP-accredited psychotherapist in Cork City Center.
Choosing a psychotherapist is a personal decision. You may find yourself looking through different profiles, wondering who you will feel comfortable talking to and whether therapy can really help.
There isn’t one therapist who is right for everyone. What matters is finding someone with the experience, approach and manner that feel right for you.
I aim to provide a therapy space that is warm, respectful, confidential and without judgement, where you can speak openly about what is happening in your life.
I am an IACP-accredited Integrative Psychotherapist, with a Master’s degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and a BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I have been working in private practice since 2020, with more than six years’ experience and over 2,000 clinical hours working with adults.
Accreditation and experience are important, but they are only part of what makes therapy helpful. The relationship you develop with your therapist is equally important.
An experienced but human approach
You don’t need to arrive at your first session knowing exactly what is wrong or what you want to achieve.
Perhaps you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, unhappy or disconnected. Maybe you’re struggling with relationships, confidence, work or a significant change in your life.
Or perhaps you simply have a sense that something isn’t quite right.
You can start wherever you are.
My role isn’t to judge you or tell you how you should live your life. Instead, we’ll work together to understand what you’re experiencing, explore patterns that may be affecting you and consider what you would like to change.
An integrative approach tailored to you
I work from an integrative perspective, drawing on different therapeutic approaches rather than trying to fit every person into the same model.
Everyone brings a different history, personality and set of circumstances to therapy.
For that reason, I believe therapy should be responsive to the individual rather than following a rigid formula.
We’ll work collaboratively and at a pace that feels appropriate for you.
Areas I can help you with:
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including:
- Anxiety and excessive worry
- Stress and feeling overwhelmed
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Depression and low mood
- Relationship difficulties
- Men’s mental health
- Loss and bereavement
- Difficult life changes
- Feeling stuck or disconnected
- Difficult emotions and patterns of behaviour
You don’t need to have a diagnosis to come to therapy.
Sometimes recognising that you don’t feel like yourself anymore is enough reason to seek support.
A confidential space in Cork City Centre
My practice is located at 11 Marlboro Street in Cork City Centre, providing a private and confidential setting for in-person psychotherapy.
I also offer online psychotherapy for adults who prefer to attend remotely.
Appointments are available during the day and evening.
What happens when you contact me?
Taking the first step can sometimes feel harder than the therapy itself.
You may be wondering what to say, whether your difficulties are serious enough or whether I’ll be the right therapist for you.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You can simply get in touch and tell me a little about what’s been happening and what has led you to consider therapy.
We can then arrange an initial appointment and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
You are not committing to long-term therapy simply by making contact.
It’s a first conversation.
If you’re considering therapy
If you’ve reached a point where you feel that talking to someone could help, I’d be happy to hear from you.
